The history of the hotel

The "Pension zur Sonnenuhr" was opened in 1968 by professional house painter Heinrich Lettenbichler and his wife Hildegard. The distinctive facade with sundial was designed by him personally and is still retained today. At that time 18 beds were available to guests.

After only a few years, it was already so popular with guests that an extension was necessary: the small guesthouse became a 3-star hotel and was renamed the "Sporthotel Sonnenuhr". Opened in 1978, it had 50 beds, a heated outdoor swimming pool and its own tennis court.

History

It all began with a small guesthouse - more than 50 years ago here in Kramsach, Tyrol

Almost 10 years later it was awarded an additional hotel star rating. The "Sonnenuhr" was extended to include a dining room, additional beds and a sauna area - and since then it has been a four-star hotel with 100 beds.

Daughter Karin and family are the third generation to run the establishment. Under her careful management, the hotel has also been modified and refurbished. The sauna area has been significantly extended once again, a new floor added to the main building, and rooms and suites refurbished to a high standard. The hotel bar has also been given a new look.

But the genuine hospitality that every guest encounters remains the same. And that's how it should continue to be!
