Exactly in 1968 the cozy 'Pension zur Sonnenuhr' was opened by Heinrich and Hildegard Lettenbichler. The house accommodated 18 guests.

After a few years many regular guests spent their holidays at this lovely guesthouse which was extended in the meantime. The small guesthouse became a wonderful 3-star hotel – 'Sporthotel Sonnenuhr' which was opened in 1978. The hotel featured 50 beds, a swimming pool and a private tennis court.

Only 10 years later the hotel Sonnenuhr received its fourth "Star"! A new dining hall was added, furthermore a new wing with guestrooms and a Health & Vitality Parlor. The outstanding hotel offers enough space for 100 persons.

Since 2002 the hotel is administrated by daughter Karin Nitz and her family. Over the last years, the building has been renovated and upgraded by extending the SPA area, enlarging the main building, and redesigning the rooms and suites with precious furniture. The homey hotel bar was renovated as well.

The most important thing however still remains the same: our genuine hospitality and that very special atmosphere, which our guests appreciate and value.
